Premier League Records Liverpool can still break this season (Jun Update)

Premier League records Liverpool

Liverpool have secured their first ever Premier League title on GW31+, after City failed to beat Chelsea.

The title race may be over but the haul for the record books is not.

Records the Reds can still Break

Most number of PL wins in a season

  • 32 <Manchester City (2017/18)>

5 more wins from their last 7 games are needed by the Reds to better City’s record of 32 wins in the season. On paper, visits to the Eithad and Emirates are the toughest fixtures left for Liverpool. On the penultimate game week of the season, Chelsea visits Anfield as well and the Blues may well be desperate for points at that stage of the season for a top 4 finish.

Most PL points in a season

  • 100 <Manchester City (2017/18)>

Liverpool are  14 points of the 100-mark. The Reds can earn a maximum of 107 points from this stage onward so have 6 points to “spare” to break City’s record haul of points.

Most home wins in a season:

  • 18 <Chelsea (2004/05)>
  • 18 <Man Utd (2010/11)>
  • 18 <Man City (2011/12) and (2017/18)>

No Premier League side has ever ended the season with a perfect home record and Liverpool are current 16 wins out of 16. Aston Villa, Burnley and Chelsea are yet to visit.

Biggest PL title-winning margin

  • 19 <Manchester City (2017/18)>

Liverpool’s current lead is 23. City play Liverpool on GW32+ in a game which may actually determine the Reds’ eventual title-winning margin

Already broken

Earliest date to win the title

  • 5 <Various>

Yes, Liverpool won the title in June, but they did it with 7 games to spare, the fastest in the history of the Premier League.

Most consecutive number of home wins

  • 21 <Liverpool (2019/20)>

This is one record which already has Liverpool’s name on it. With a win over West Ham on gameweek 27, Liverpool made this record their own, surpassing a record set by City in 2012.

Fastest to beat every single opponent

  • 31 games <Manchester City (2018/19)>

Liverpool completed the run in gameweek 24, when they beat West Ham in a rescheduled fixture. This surpassed the record set by City last season.
