For FPL GW31+, we look ahead to the rest of the season where all teams will have 8 more games to play.
It is also worthwhile to recap which teams are still competing for the FA Cup, as these teams have to juggle the tight Premier League schedule and FA Cup.
A wildcard may be useful if you still have it..
- NOR vs MUN
- SHU vs ARS
- LEI vs CHE
- NEW vs MCI
NOR is deep in the relegation fight while MUN / SHU / ARS/ LEI / CHE are all fighting for European places. NEW should be safe from relegation, and may concentrate more in the FA Cup. MCI should secure Top 4, although their fate for European competitions next season is still uncertain pending the outcome of their European ban.
Next, we look at 7 teams who have favourable fixtures till the end of the season.
MUN – SHU, FA Cup, @BHA, BOU, @AST, SOU, @PAL, WHU, @LEI
Manchester United sits 3 points behind 4th place Chelsea. Among their remaining fixtures, their toughest one would be away at Leicester. With Bruno Fernandes impressing and Rashford, Pogba back from injury, they would feel confident to finish the season on a high.
BUR – WAT, @PAL, SHU, @WHU, @LIV, WOL, @NOR, BHA
Burnley face only 1 traditional top six club in Liverpool. They also have no FA Cup distractions. However, survival in the top flight is more or less secured with only pride to fight for till the rest of the season.
MCI – @CHE, FA Cup, LIV, @SOU, NEW, @BHA, BOU, @WAT, NOR
Manchester City next 2 league games are tough, as they face Chelsea away and Liverpool at home. But after that, they have a ridiculously easy run of fixtures with 13th placed Newcastle the highest placed team in their last 6 games.
EVE – @NOR, LEI, @TOT, SOU, @WOL, AST, @SHU, BOU
Everton currently sits on 37 points in 12th place. But together with their new manager, Carlo Ancelotti, they would want to finish as high as possible and see if that would bring them into Europe next season. They have some tricky away fixtures at Tottenham, Wolves and Sheffield United. However, they also have some mouth-watering home fixtures against Southampton, Aston Villa and Bournemouth.
WOL – BOU, @AST, ARS, @SHU, EVE, @BUR, PAL, @CHE
Wolves sit on 7th place with high ambitions of playing in Europe next season. Their toughest fixture is the away game to Chelsea. And they will fancy their chances in the other 7 fixtures even against Arsenal at home and away at Sheffield United. They also do not have FA cup distractions.
LIV – PAL, @MCI, AST, @BHA, BUR, @ARS, CHE, @NEW
Champions elect Liverpool need 6 more points to confirm the title. They have some great fixtures at home to Palace, Aston Villa and Burnley but will they take their foot off the pedal? Maybe Klopp will also take the chance to give promising youngsters some game time as well, which makes sense given the tight schedule to complete the season.
WAT – @BUR, SOU, @CHE, NOR, NEW, @WHU, MCI, @ARS
Watford is right in the relegation dogfight. As such, we can expect them to play their strongest team week in week out. Their next 6 fixtures also look promising, before 2 tough games at the end of the season at home to Manchester City and away at Arsenal.
That’s all for now and we look forward to the rest of the fixtures in Gameweek 30+ to see which players are in the starting line-ups after the long break!
