FPL GW24 Captain
The panel’s overwhelming favourite of GW23, Antonio, failed to deliver so we are hoping for better luck this round!
Happy Chinese New Year to all!
FPL GW24 Captain
For my Captain this week I am honestly stuck. The safe and boring option would be Bruno Fernandes but with Nick Pope on a double with two easier fixtures.
Bruno Fernandes (MNU | 11.5) will have the armband for now.

Sterling and Gundogan being subbed off before 60 minutes (against Swansea) is as close as we will get to confirmation that they will start at the weekend. Whether the will start both games of the double is less certain but, for me, they are prime captaincy picks. I do not own Sterling so will be going with Gündogan (MCI | 6.0).

Playing just 57mins vs Swansea tells us that Sterling (MCI | 11.6) is likely to play both games. He scored against the Swans and has the highest ceiling among players who will have a DGW.

Gundogan would have been my first choice (c) pick initially but possible injuries to Rodri & Fernandinho does open up the risk of Gundogan playing further back. If Rodri & Ferna are ruled out, I would go for Sterling (MCI | 11.6), with him also coming off early in the Cup and in decent form (3G in 5), combined with his relatively low ownership.

Bruno Fernandes (MNU | 11.5) is my choice for captain. With Paul Pogba being out for the next few weeks this will benefit the Portuguese magician. He tends to play further forward and makes more runs into the opposition box. They are playing at WBA, who have conceded 31 of their 54 goals at home.

Despite the DGW being fairly tough it is a fairly rested Sterling (MCI | 11.6) for me. Looks to be returning to form (4 returns in last 4) and a massive differential at 12.8% owned.

Captain pick will be Pope (BUR | 5.5). Up against Crystal Palace and Fulham, both of whom have not been scoring much in the league, Pope is highly likely to keep a clean sheet in both and pull of a couple of saves.

Pep roulette is always a concern and City have two tough games, but this week I’ll be giving the armband to Gündogan (MCI | 6.0)

This DGW is a question of what type of an FPL manager you are.
If you are a safe manager I would go with Bruno Fernandes (MNU | 11.5) who was rested midweek in the cup playing against a struggling West Brom side.
If you are a more risky manager or need to make up some ground on your mini league rivals, I would suggest Ben Mee (BUR | 5.0). Burnley have a DGW in GW24 playing Fulham and Crystal Palace who are the 2 teams with most headed goals conceded. Also with Zaha set to miss out, there is a greater chance of clean sheet to Burnley as well as the goal threat from corners.

With the DGW, you have to pick a captain from a team with 2 fixtures. Yes, there is a rotation risk but chances are Sterling (MCI | 11.6) will play a part in both games. He is in great form and is the most likely to have an explosive return.
