UCL Fantasy MD8 Differentials
MD8 is the second leg of the Last 16. We pick a handful of differentials (selected by <10%) to own.
You will have 5 free transfers for MD9 but we will be focusing on player whom we believe to have better chances of featuring in the Quarter-finals.
UCL Fantasy MD8 Differentials – Dias (Man City | 5.6m | 7%)
The low ownership of Dias in UCL Fantasy is somewhat surprising, the Portuguese defender and Man City are in red hot form. Dias also just scored his first Premier League goal and is almost nailed on in the City team..
De Bruyne (Man City | 11.4m | 5%)
De Bruyne is back after and injury spell so it now makes sense to bring the Belgian back. He is the architect of the City attack and can be backed to contribute to assists and goals.
Mendy (Real Madrid | 5.5 | 4%)
Not withstanding his wonder goal on MD7, (Ferland) Mendy is Real Madrid’s regular left-back. Madrid is now a more solid team and the back and is very likely to progress.
Sancho (Dortmund | 10.0 | 4%)
Sancho’s low ownership can probably be explained by his price and managers leaning towards his teammate Haaland. Sancho is a sure starter for Dortmund and has already contributed 16 assists and 11 goals this season. Dortmund’s progress is likely and Sancho-Haaland combination may not seem too extravagant.
Trippier (Atletico | 5.2m | 4%)
Trippier is back after serving a 10-week suspension. It may be risky to put him straight into the team but he has been a regular starter for Atletico prior to his ban. He has 5 assists in 20 appearances so could prove differential.
Giroud (Chelsea | 7.7m | 3%)
It appears that Tuchel is still figuring out his best XI but Giroud has been featuring regularly under the new boss. He also scored a wonder goal on MD7 and at 3% ownership can be a good cheap and differential option as a forward.
Jones (Liverpool | 5.4m | 2%)
Liverpool’s ridiculous injury list is giving Jones many opportunities. he has sta4rted in 4 of the Reds’ last 5 Champions League games and can be back to start on MD8. His very low price makes him an enabler.
Sane (Bayern Munich | 9.4m | 2%)
Bayern is unlikely to make wholesale changes for a Champions League knockout tie and it may be Sane’s time to shine. The winger already has 3 goals and 1 assist in the competition and may be a good differential to Kimmich / Lewandowski.
Rudiger (Chelsea | 4.5m | 2%)
Rudiger is back after starting the last 9 Premier League and Champions League games under Tuchel. Good price for a starting defender in a solid team – Chelsea is also poised to progress after a good first leg win.
