FPL BGW29 Free Hit
We pick a Free Hit squad for BGW29, with a team value of just 98.4m.
FPL BGW29 Free Hit – GK
Sanchez (BHA | 4.5) – Of the 8 playing teams, Brighton looks most likely to keep a clean sheet when they take on struggling and toothless Newcastle. Many other FPL managers will play Martinez this gameweek, making Sanchez a very attractive differential on the Free Hit.
Dunk (BHA | 4.9) – Building on the narrative, Dunk plays in a side which is likely to keep a clean sheet. He already has 4 goals to his name this season and is Brighton’s top FPL scorer (95)
Tierney (ARS | 5.2) – Arsenal plays West Ham away, at a venue where the latter have thrived particularly in 2021. However, Tierney also offers the possibility of attacking returns – he has 1 goal and 2 assists in his last 6 starts.
Cresswell (WHU | 5.8) – FPL’s top scoring defender has 10 assists to his name. He takes many of West Ham’s attacking set-pieces and is a must-have on a Free Hit.
Lingard (WHU | 6.1) – Lingard had a rest day on GW28 as he could not play against his parent club. His stats at the Hammers have been amazing so far – 4 goals, 2 assists and 44 FPL points in just 6 appearances.
Bale (TOT | 9.6) – Bale could not find his feet against Arsenal on GW28 but otherwise his form has been amazing, chalking up 4 goals and 2 assists in his last 5 games. With Son doubtful and Lamela suspended, Bale is a very likely starter.
Raphinha (LEE | 5.5) – Leeds have been blunt of late and Bamford is doubtful but there is good reason to back Raphinha, who has been enjoying a fruitful season overall so far. He is the most likely to return amongst the Leeds players.
Odegaard (ARS | 5.9) – Odergaard would be a very strong differential. The Norwegian has started often since arriving and started 2 goals in his last 2 games for Arsenal in all competitions. He makes great runs and once he gets up to speed with the Premier League, is expected to return more.
Kane (TOT | 11.2) – Another player which is hard to ignore is of course Kane. They do not have an easier game at Villa but Kane is always likely to find the net. He did not play badly against Arsenal on GW28 and was unlucky not to find the equaliser with his cute freekick late in the game.
Antonio (WHU | 6.6) – Antonio has the highest xG in the last 5 games. A very good option to have at his price.
Lacazette (ARS | 8.4) – Lacazette has 2 goals in his last 2 starts. With Aubameyang’s starting place in limbo after his disciplinary issues, we back Lacazette to front the Arsenal line. He takes penalties too.
FPL BGW29 Free Hit – Subs
On a Free Hit, the idea is to keep the bench as light as possible to field a strong first XI. However, under these circumstances, we recommend fielding a bench with all possible starters – this would not be difficult as there are not many Premium choices this gameweek.
GK – Martinez (AVL | 5.3)
DEF – Targett (AVL | 4.9)
MID – Trossard (BHA | 5.7)
DEF – Aina (FUL | 4.5)
