While wary of Peps roulette, double game week seems too tempting to pass up on. Hence going with Gundogan (6.2), hoping he starts both the games after getting his rest in the last match.

Brain says Gundogan (6.2), Metric says Gundo. Pep Roulette incoming – where’s that sofa….

So tempted to go with Ederson – rotation proof, Man Utd barely score against the top 6 and Southampton are in freefall. But I’ll probably play it safe and go with Gundogan (6.2)…

Despite KDB having better overall stats, before his injury, Gundogan was beating KDB for shots in the box in GW13-19 (16 v 11) and goals (5 v 1). That, combined with Gundo being rested v Wolves while KDB played the full 180 min in GW26, makes Gundogan (6.2) the “safe” Captain Pick this week. Risk takers might consider a fully rested Aubameyang (11.3) against a leaky Burnley.

Gundogan (6.2) is the logical captain. He has the best conversion rate amongst all players this season and is still playing close to the box. Strong possibility he plays both games due to his rest against Wolves.
If you are chasing or look for a differential captain then I would look at Antonio (6.5). He has the highest xG over the past 4 games, playing against a Leeds team that has the second worst xGA this season. Antonio has the ability to explode like he did with his 4 goals against Norwich last season.

I think a safest option would be John Stones (5.2). Dias and Walker were the only defenders to play both games on DGW26. So ideally they should sit out one game at least is Pep roulette follows suit.
On the other hand, no one is going to pick a Saints player as their captain since they’re playing Man City (A). So if you’re looking for differential, then you should pick Ward-Prowse, Ings or Minamino.

You know how much I like a differential pick. After all, Sigurdsson scored 11 last week. Therefore, if you are looking to make mini league gains, then why not consider João Cancelo (6.2)? He had rest in the last DGW, and regularly plays at least 5 games in a row and is up against a Man Utd side who have not scored in their last 2 and not scored against City, Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal in the league this season. Following that with a second match against a woeful Southampton side. His heatmaps this season do not resemble those of a full back. Pep roulette is always in play, but a risk worth taking in my opinion.

I am not overthinking this one; captaincy for me goes to Ilkay Gundogan (6.2). Only Manchester City and Southampton double in GW27 and I wouldn’t currently touch Southampton assets with a barge pole so, for me, the pick has to be from Manchester City.
While I have slight concerns about how his role is being impacted by the return of Kevin De Bruyne, Gundogan is still one of the most nailed on City assets available. His rest in GW26 lowers his position on my ‘Pep Roulette Danger-o-Meter’.

I’m currently split between three options. Kevin De Bruyne (11.8) is the simple option. He has Man United and Southampton, two fixtures he could return in. Gareth Bale has Crystal Palace and looks back to his best. If I really wanted to go differential it will be Trossard, whom I brought in ahead of Gameweek 29, has a game against a Leicester side full of injuries and with the amount of shots Brighton have, the goals have to come soon.

Cancelo (6.2)could be a great option. He’s due some returns and he’s a bonus points magnet. He’s set to thrive as Manchester City can’t keep conceding. Their defence is just too organised.Cancelo could be a great option. He’s due some returns and he’s a bonus points magnet. He’s set to thrive as Manchester City can’t keep conceding. Lord of … all things funny and wacky
It’s probably a matter of which Man City player to captain this week. Sterling (11.6) is my pick. Rotation risks exist but Sterling had already sat out 1 of the 2 games on GW26 so there is a good chance he may get the full 180 minutes here.

GW27 is a tricky one where Man City and Southampton play twice. For captain, Gundogan (6.2) would be my pick, given that he was rested against Wolves and is the highest owned player of all City players.
