A very open week again for captaincy with a changing of the guard at the top of the man city dominated Metric with KDB toppling Gundogan and the metric for the first time since GW13 v WBA (the only time the metric has picked him this year – he blanked).
Given the roulette wheel in full effect preference is for Salah (12.5) to deliver a golden goodbye and punish sellers against wolves over Bruno and Kane who do battle in what appear to be tougher match ups than versus the Wolves defence who in the last 6 are 4th worse for XGC and BCC with 1.69 and 2.43 /90 respectively and 2nd worse for Shots in box at 11.4/90.

No standout picks for me. When this happens I tend to pick a premium player with a home game. Although West Ham are no pushovers, I’ll be giving the armband to Bruno Fernandes (11.5) this week.

Kane (11.3) is the form pick and has an excellent record v Arsenal of 11G3A in 13 appearances including 1G1A in the reverse fixture.
From Spurs’ 46 goals this season, Kane has scored 16G 13A – to put it simply, if Spurs score, Kane is likely to be involved. For the risk takers, Kai Havertz excelled in a false 9 role v Everton in GW27, has 0% effective ownership and plays Leeds who have conceded, on average, 3 goals a game vs the Traditional “Big 6”.

It’s a tricky weekend with no stand out options. I’m going with De Bruyne (11.8) after his 2 goal show. Fulham need points and this could play into Man City’s hands on the counter attack. If KDB plays false 9 then he will get more returns.
Our weekly columnist.
It is really hard to ignore Kevin De Bruyne (11.8) this week against Fulham. Most of the big teams are playing against each other, and after KDB’s massive haul against Southampton, I don’t think I can give anyone else the armband.

Bale (9.4) 1. Spurs have never failed to score against Arsenal in the last 7 attempts. 2. Spurs have scored 10 goals in the last 4 PL games. 3. Currently, Bale has the highest points form amongst all players. 4. In terms of fatigue from Europa, Arsenal are travelling to Greece, whereas Spurs are at Home.

Kane (11.3) – tops the table for underlying stats, 21 shots (8 on target, 11 inside the box) in the last four gameweeks Not the easiest fixtures but, then again, most of the other standout captaincy options also have tricky opposition. Bale a great differential shout but managers should be mindful of Jose managing his minutes.

Mr Differential coming at you again. With not a lot of stand out options this week, why not go for for a highly consistent player and the 5th highest scoring player this season…EMI MARTINEZ (5.4). Playing against a Newcastle side that is missing Callum Wilson, I predict another clean sheet for the Argentinian shot stopper.
Lord of … all things funny and wacky
Going for Sterling on GW27 really hurt me so this week I will go for a safe and sound option. I will captain Fernandes (11.5), who has been very consistent throughout the season. United is in great league form and have a good record against West Ham at home.

Never doubt Fernandes (11.5), who is a magnet for FPL points. He takes penalties and is very good at that. Man Utd also play West Ham at home; whilst the latter are in good form, they are historically not great away to Man Utd.
