FPL GW35 Free Hit

The season is truly at its business end of things. It is time to finish up those chips and make a push for a good OR.

This GW, we present a Free Hit team. This squad is picked with our mates at Home Ground, and is also the team for our GW35 Beat the Scout Challenge.

The principle of the Free Hit is to keep a bench that is as cheap as possible, focusing on the XI.

  • Schmeichel (LEI | 5.4)

Among the goalkeepers with 2 fixtures, Schmeichel stands out, especially with Leicester’s home game against Newcastle. He is also under no threat of rotation.

  • Shaw (MNU | 5.4)

Like every Man United selection, there is a risk that the player will not play the full 270 minutes. Telles is waiting in the wings for some minutes over this week but when Shaw plays, he is always a threat going forward.

  • Alexander-Arnold (LIV | 7.6)

Alexander-Arnold had been in good form coming into GW35 with 42 points from his last 5 games. He also has much to prove to secure his ticket to Euro 2020.

  • Evans (LEI | 5.6)

Evans has been a great threat going forward in recent weeks with 2 goals and 1 assist in his last 3 games. Like Schmeichel, he faces low risk of rotation.

  • Zaha (PAL | 7.1)

Palace is already safe from relegation but enjoys possibly the best fixtures in GW35. They play relegated Sheff United then visit Southampton. Zaha is the only standout option to select from from the Palace ranks.

  • Salah (LIV | 12.7)

Liverpool now need a succession of miracles to finish top 4 and Salah will be key for their final charge. The Egyptian forward reached 20 Premier League goals for the third time in his Liverpool career and is very well in the running for the Golden Boot.

  • Greenwood (MNU | 7.1)

FPL GW31 Review

Most managers will be tripling up on Man Utd assets and Greenwood is likely to be one of the three. He is affordable and had been in great form going into this GW with 4 goals in his last 4 games.

  • Sigurdsson (EVE | 6.9)

Everton have 2 away games and they have been more potent away from home all season. Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison also make good picks but Sigurdsson is on set pieces and is a midfielder.

  • Fernandes (MNU | 11.5)

Fernandes is likely to be the most captained player of the gameweek. Captaining Fernandes is a near no brainer even though it is likely that he will not likely play the full 270 minutes.

  • Watkins (AVL | 6.5)

Watkins has been in consistent form over the past few gameweeks, enjoying returns on 6 of his last 7 games. Villa have 2 tough fixtures, but over the course of the season, Watkin had already enjoyed returns against the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City.

  • Iheanacho (LEI | 6.3)

Iheanacho has been on explosive form of late, scoring 73 FPL points in his last 7 games; his season tally stands at 93. Leicester needs the points and is likely to stick with the same formation.

  • Guaita (PAL | 4.8)
  • Coleman (EVE | 4.9)
  • Davis (LEE | 3.8)
  • Vydra (BUR | 4.8)
