UCL Fantasy MD1 Captain
The first captain pick always provide the biggest challenge – go safe or go big?
UCL Fantasy MD1 Captain – Tuesday
Lukaku (CHE | 10.5)
In terms of fixtures, Lukaku stands out. Zenit have never met an English opponent in the Champions League before and is likely to be missing their midfield enforcer Barrios. Center-back Lovren is missing in action too.
Lukaku has the potential to have a field day on his Champions League debut for the Blues. Lukaku is already on 3 goals in 3 league games.
Ronaldo (MNU | 11.0)
Not much need to be said about Ronaldo.
The slight downside is whether he will get the start and/or the minutes against a Young Boys side in Switzerland.
Lewandowski (BAY | 12.0)
Lewandowski has continued his explosive scoring form, having scored in every game with Bayern this season.
The challenge for him this week would be Barcelona, who are missing a host of players due to injuries.
Also, Bayern won 8-2 the last time they met.
UCL Fantasy MD1 Captain – Wednesday
Haaland (DOR | 11.0)
The goal machine is top of most matrices in terms of his attacking returns and plays a Besiktas side returning to Champions League for the first time since 2018.
A straightforward pick for Wednesday, the headache would come if your Tuesday captain returns.
Messi (PSG | 11.0)
Messi has only played 24 minutes in a PSG shirt to date and is a risk as he had just returned from his exertions with Argentina.
This may be Messi’s time to make a mark for PSG, in an away to Club Brugge in Belgium.
Salah (LIV | 10.5)
Salah is a safe and recognisable captain pick.
He so often delivers, having already scored 28 goals and providing 11 assists in 58 Champions League appearances.
Liverpool plays Milan, in front of a packed Anfield.
